Things got a little hectic on us for a bit. We made an attempt at potty training for a couple days. Then we got a stomach bug/colds that had us down for a couple weeks. Thanksgiving fell in the window of our colds, so Amara and I had a low-key day. Still had some turkey and apple pie, but it was just the two of us. Just as we were getting over all that, my husband came home from his deployment!

We got our tree put up day after Thanksgiving and our Elf on the Shelf made her debut. This is our first year doing the Elf. It got here too late last year, and at 11 months old I don't think Amara would have had any interest. Amara has been doing a pretty good job with her. She hasn't tried to touch her, and only hasn't found her one day so far. She named the elf Cookie. I had to help a little with that process. She wasn't getting the whole name idea. We went around the house and I said random names/words. She kept saying Cookie over and over, so Cookie it is.

We had a kid holiday party to attend last week. Amara got her first Santa pictures since weren't able to get any last year for her first Christmas. They also had little games, gifts, crafts, and food for the kids.

Other than that, we've just been readjusting to Michael being home. Amara and I had a very, very lazy schedule with him away. Slept in late, went to bed late, had no real set meal time. Now we have alarms that go off and dinner about 5. She seems excited to have him home though. She keeps following him around the house hollering "DAD" at the top of her lungs, just because she can.
